In-Focus - September 2010

It seems impossible that 12 months have passed since our last ‘in-focus’. Just where has that year gone ? Thankfully, that time has flown so quickly for us partly due to the fact that we have been so busy with both existing and new customers. During those 12 months we have committed to “tape-less cameras, my how things have changed in the 5 years since we started. We have seen VHS tape phased out in favour of DVCam and Mini DV tape and now . . . . TAPE HAS GONE ! Such is technology we are now filming on memory cards ! The number of bulky VHS tapes we used to film in a day can now be captured on a single memory card the size of your thumbnail !!

Numerous projects with existing and new customers have been completed and although everyone we film is a star in there own right (We would much rather be behind the camera !), it was with great pleasure that we got to work with and film Chris Tarrant during a recent project for Hinders of Swindon. Another great experience was working main camera on stage during the recent (August) Invincible Concert with thousands of party goers behind. . . . . All great fun. We have also completed our first CBT (Computer Based Training) project for a major player in the financial services industry which, even if we say so ourselves, was a huge success. So much so that we are now working on the second module with further ones planned. Again we thank all of our customers for their business and continued support, it really is very much appreciated – thank you.

And finally, if you’re going to work hard you need to play hard and it was a great pleasure to run (and take part in) the 3rd Annual Mark-One-Media Ltd golf day challenge in May, which I’m please to report was a huge success. A day full of fun (and frustration) with John Richards being the eventual winner and the benefiting charity being Children’s Hospice UK. A fantastic day, and thanks to everyone who took part. So that's it for now, it looks like this year could be over before it seems to have begun. At least we had some sun this year ! Until next time . . . . . .
